창덕궁 대조전

창덕궁은 1405년 지어진 조선의 궁궐로, 자연 지형을 살린 배치가 아름다워 1997년 유네스코 세계유산에 올랐다. 대조전은 왕비가 생활하던 침전이다. 1910년 대조전의 부속 건물인 흥복헌에서 조선의 마지막 어전회의가 열렸다. 지붕에 용마루가 없는 것이 특징이다.

EnglishChangdeokgung is a Joseon dynasty palace built in 1405. Praised for the way its buildings embrace the natural terrain, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Daejojeon was the queen's residential quarters. In 1910 the last royal council of Joseon was held at Heungbokheon, an annex of Daejojeon. Its roof notably has no top ridge beam.
