창덕궁 인정전

창덕궁은 1405년 지어진 조선의 궁궐로, 자연 지형을 살린 배치가 아름다워 1997년 유네스코 세계유산에 올랐다. 이 사진은 창덕궁의 으뜸 건물인 인정전의 바깥 모습이다. 밖에서 보면 2층이지만 안은 천장이 하나로 트인 높은 구조다. 인정전은 국가의 큰 행사가 열리던 곳이다.

EnglishChangdeokgung is a Joseon dynasty palace built in 1405. Praised for the way its buildings embrace the natural terrain, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. This photo shows the exterior of Injeongjeon, the main hall of Changdeokgung. Though it looks two-storied from outside, inside it is a single open space with a high ceiling. Injeongjeon is where major state ceremonies were held.
